This book was listed on ilovetypography.com as something to check out. It can be found here at grainedit.com. I might have to ask for it for Christmas. The techniques that the designer uses, to show different textures or dark and light areas is really nice. A project similar to this is coming up for my students, only they have to design a self portrait of themselves instead of another subject.
