Could you possibly explain how you did this? I’m currently looking for ideas for a bookbinding project for a Visual Exploration course and I really like the way this is done.

Sure…I used a pattern and instructions from Keith Smith’s “Non-Adhesive Binding Volume III: Exposed Spine Sewings.” Smith has written several binding books that include dozens and dozens of sewing patterns.
